We are always very busy in reception!

In Reception we have been busy learning about the topic of 'colour'.  We learnt the whole of 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear' to perform to the rest of the school, and investigated what happened when we mixed colours.

We are now looking at 'Winter' and have been thinking about different weathers as we look at 'We're going on a Bear Hunt.'   This has linked very closely with our work in Forest Schools where we investigate the outdoors and find out more about the natural world.

We have been working hard in phonics to learn our new sounds and are starting to read and write short sentences. In maths we have just started learning about addition and are very excited to be writing our own maths stories.

We have regular adult-led activities across different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, as well as accessing a range of exciting provision within the classroom.

The children work inside and outside on all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.  They will be involved in adult-led activities as well as accessing a range of exciting learning areas within the classroom.  We promote independence and encourage children's individual creativity and imagination.

We promote positive friendships and teach children the importance of working together as a team.
