Thank you for taking the time to visit our class page, we hope you find it useful, interesting and informative.

Year 6 is a busy year with lots of learning and preparing to do.   Your child will work with 2 teachers this year, Mrs Frear and Mrs Borlase.    They teach as a team in Year 6 across two classrooms.

Mrs Huffer and Miss Hebblethwaite are the class Teaching Assistants.

All our staff work hard to build and maintain superb working relationships with children and parents to ensure that our children achieve their potential.   Come and say hello at the door every morning and afternoon as you drop off and collect your children.

All our teaching in Year 6 is delivered with the idea that our most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point.   This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities.

Children in Year 6 have a rich and exciting curriculum.  Our Autumn themes are ‘Would you like to meet a Mayan?’ and ‘We’ll meet again’ :These are both exciting history topics.

In English we are reading ‘A Room Full of Chocolate – by Jane Elson.

Our writing skills will develop across all subjects in science, history, geography and R.E.

In maths we are securing our understanding of place value to 10,000,000 and more tricky number calculations.
